Retired Detective. Criminal Justice Educator. Explanatory Journalist.

I investigate how justice and public safety systems actually work in real life, including emerging threats, and speak to practitioners, students, and the public about what I find.

My Mission:

Why I Do This Work:

I have spent my career inside the justice system; first in uniform, then in investigations, and now in the classroom and the public square. I have seen how policy decisions affect real families, how emerging threats move faster than systems can adapt, and how redemption stories often go unnoticed.

I do this work because justice is not abstract. Public safety is not theoretical. And redemption is not sentimental. These are lived realities; for officers, for communities, and for the people trying to rebuild their lives.

My goal is simple: to investigate how these systems actually function in the real world, and to teach, write, and speak about what I find.
