About Brandon Burley, M.P.A.
I am a retired detective, prior service U.S. Marine infantryman, and criminal justice educator focused on how justice and public-safety systems actually function in the real world.
My work examines investigative practice, policy implementation, and emerging threats; translating complex systems into clear analysis for practitioners and the public.
Over the course of my law enforcement career, I worked complex investigations involving violent crime, organized narcotics activity, and founded my former agencies Criminal Intelligence Unit. I later transitioned into education and explanatory journalism, bringing field experience into the classroom and into national publications.
Today, my work spans four lanes:
• Teaching our youth
• Investigative reporting and policy analysis published through regional and national outlets
• Independent research projects examining justice system performance and emerging public-safety threats
• Long-form interviews and documentary-style storytelling through The Redemption Project. A reduction in recidivism, is the only way to a safer society
I hold a Master of Public Administration, more than 60 law enforcement certifications, and continue to engage in ongoing research and professional development in criminal justice, intelligence analysis, and public policy.
